Kelley Gary (R-Hoschton) Calls Out Frank Ginn’s Liberal Record
7/9/2010
Kelley Gary, candidate for Senate District 47, called out Frank Ginn’s real record Thursday evening at the Madison County Chamber Forum and Oglethorpe GOP Forum.
Said Kelley, “Frank Ginn has challenged us to examine his record, and I have done that. Unfortunately the truth is very different from the story Ginn tells. Ginn is a career government bureaucrat who has stood up for himself and for big government, rather than for taxpayers. He supported higher property taxes to pay for his salary and benefits in Franklin County, and last year he proposed that the state raise gas taxes and take more money from you at the pump.”
“What’s worse is that Frank is pretending to be a Republican. The truth is he is a Democrat that is confused about what primary he should be running in. Frank voted in the 2004 Democrat Presidential Primary, the 2000 Democrat Primary and the 1996 Democrat Primary.”
“I am frustrated with career politicians and government bureaucrats who say one thing and do another. My focus as state senator from day one will be to reduce income taxes and provide tax relief to property owners who are being taxed out of their homes. We need new people in government and new leaders in the Republican Party, people with character and backbone who are committed to ensuring that government is open, honest, limited, and efficient, and that is why I am running to be your next state senator.”
Kelley Gary has proven that he has the courage to deliver for our families. When the city of Hoschton decided to pass a property tax for the first time in 30 years, Kelley stood up and fought the tax increase. When you say you can’t fight city hall, you can, Kelley has, and HE WON.
A small business owner, Kelley is the owner of Premier Storage in Braselton. A 5th generation Jackson Countian, Kelley Gary is a product of Georgia Public Schools and the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelors in Business Administration. He also earned a Masters in Economics. Gary, 37, is married to the former Lora Porter of Jefferson, a public school teacher. They are active members of New Community Church in Hoschton.
“Frank Ginn of Franklin County suggested the state raise the gas tax to help pay for roads that will relieve pressure on congestion in Atlanta.”
-- The Toccoa Record, February 26, 2009
“Franklin County’s fiscal 2010 budget comes with a price tag of a 2-mill property tax rate increase.” Expenses for the office of county manager Frank Ginn increased to $292,000. -- Independent Mail June 22, 2009, June 26 2009.
