The Gary Plan:

Property Tax Reform.
I will work to scrap the current system and replace it with a system that is simple, objective, fair, and stable.
  • Eliminate the state’s portion of the property tax.
  • Cap property reassessments based on inflation
  • Create a standard assessment value based on what you paid and not on a bureaucrat’s opinion
  • Pass legislation to allow citizens to vote to completely eliminate property taxes and replace them with a sales tax or to set a flat fee on property. It will be completely up to voters.

Cut Wasteful Spending. Lower Taxes.
Government should be better, not bigger. My record is clear. When the city of Hoschton decided to increase spending by 80%, and tried to pass a property tax, I fought them and won.  I will fight to cut spending and government waste so we can lower taxes for our families.
  • Eliminate non-essential government spending and limit overall spending at the rate of inflation and population growth.
  • Support zero-based budgeting and program audits.
  • Lower taxes on our families and business.
Crack Down on Illegal Immigration

We should insist that the Federal government do its job and enforce our borders.  When and where the Federal government fails, Georgia and other affected States have the right to act.  Georgia already has a very tough law on the books that is similar to the Arizona law, and which allows police officers to determine citizenship when an arrest is made.  I believe our state law, if enforced, will allow police to properly identify illegal immigrants while respecting our Constitution.  Unfortunately our state law is rarely enforced.  We need to listen to law enforcement officials and adopt new measures that will enable them to effectively enforce immigration laws.

Create Jobs and Grow our Economy
I know what we need to do to compete in a 21st Century economy and I have the courage to do it.  Georgia has world class transportation and distribution infrastructure in place.  We need to put in place the right tax incentives for businesses to locate and create new jobs here.  And we need to invest in vocational education and real education reform to create a skilled work force.  As your state senator I will:
  • Cut corporate taxes and government red tape to attract businesses.
  • Invest in real education reform to create a skilled work force.
  • Work with the University of Georgia and our technical colleges to attract high paying jobs.
  • Invest in our technical colleges and vocational education.

Protect our Values.
In the Senate, I will fight everyday to protect life from conception, protect our right to bear arms and advocate for traditional families and our traditional values—you have my word.
